{"id":592,"date":"2021-12-17T10:37:32","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T09:37:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.2.7\/case_studies\/logistics-facilities-and-foodstuff-storage\/"},"modified":"2021-12-17T10:37:32","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T09:37:32","slug":"logistics-facilities-and-foodstuff-storage","status":"publish","type":"case_studies","link":"https:\/\/wind-tech.it\/en\/casestudies\/logistics-facilities-and-foodstuff-storage\/","title":{"rendered":"Logistics facilities and foodstuff storage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The refrigeration system used for the positive-temperature (TN) chambers is an <strong>INDIRECT Glycol system<\/strong>, while the negative-temperature (BT) unit adopts a <strong>CO2<\/strong> <strong>Direct expansion system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Refrigerated covered surface of about 25,000 sq.m.<\/li>\n<li>TN chamber volume at an ambient temperature of +2\u00b0C, amounting to 260,000 m3<\/li>\n<li>BT chamber volume at an ambient temperature of -25\u00b0C, amounting to 7,700 m3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All the chambers and units are served by <strong>LU-VE\u2019s DRY COOLERS<\/strong>for a total of 54 units and an overall power capacity of 4.0 MW.<\/p>\n<p>The heart of the system is made up of <strong>6 x 800 kW Chillers<\/strong> with a <strong>R1234ZE<\/strong> refrigerant allowing to manage inertial storage with Glycol at <strong>-8\u00b0C<\/strong> and to obtain heat recovery for a second storage at <strong>+25\u00b0C<\/strong>, this second storage option at a positive temperature is used for thawing dry coolers through an exchange between the two cold and hot circuits.<\/p>\n<p>This system allows for a <strong>complete recovery<\/strong> of the potential energy requirement for thawing the exchangers, which would otherwise have been provided via other sources with associated costs.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the -8\u00b0C glycol serves the CO2 subcritical units of the <strong>SCM FRIGO<\/strong> as condensation fluid, with machinery serving the -25\u00b0C BT chamber which is part of the system with the LU-VE Co2-expansion AIR EVAPORATOR.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The refrigeration system used for the positive-temperature (TN) chambers is an INDIRECT Glycol system, while the negative-temperature (BT) unit adopts a CO2 Direct expansion system.
